When it comes to vacation air travel, a trip can become a magical getaway or a frustrating experience, so why not make your next vacation more fun with secret travel tricks?

Book your ticket in an incognito browser

Have you ever tried to book airline tickets, constantly updating the page to see if the price will go down?

Travel booking sites are more deceptive than you think.

If you've already visited a travel site, browsed through their rates, then left but plan to come back for a reservation, watch out, that site can remember you and when you come back they raise their prices.

Peter Greenberg, travel editor at CBS News, wrote on LinkedIn, "There is growing evidence to suggest that airlines track your online behavior, perhaps even tracking IP addresses. (IP), and frequently searched flights may go up in price.

And when you see prices go up with each visit, you may feel anxious and need to book it ASAP.

Avoid your fears, you will pay more than you should for your ticket.

Alternatively, you can avoid surreptitiously tracking websites by clearing your browser history after visiting the site, or just search in Incognito mode.

Book tickets on Tuesday

Rumor has it that Tuesday after 3:00 pm is the "golden hour" for buying flights.

Although this can't necessarily be confirmed, booking your ticket out in the middle of the week is usually the cheapest time to travel, with the most expensive time to travel on Sundays.

Take the opportunity

Sometimes airlines cut the cost of unsold "business class" seats to fill the plane.

You can usually find the best deals during inconvenient departure times or overnight flights, so it's okay to try your luck with your travel plans.

What does your seat on the flight look like?

See what your plane looks like before boarding.

The next time you travel, don't choose your seat at random.

Before booking your next flight, write down the airline and flight number for which you intend to book a ticket on the SeatGuru website.

The free and easy site offers seat maps showing the exact layout of your plane, accurate customer reviews of seats and photos.

Find out how close you are to the toilet, which seats have extra legroom, where to find electrical sockets, and whether a particular row doesn't recline.

Use google maps without internet

You don't need an internet subscription when navigating to your next destination.

Before your next trip, type "OK Maps" into the Google Maps app and the map portion visible on your screen will automatically be saved.

Once you're there, you'll be able to zoom in and scroll while avoiding internet fees.

Although you won't be able to access GPS or real-time navigation, your phone's compass will still work.

Enter the luxurious airport lounges with an economy ticket

Subscribing to a Priority Pass (starting at $99 per year) gives you access to more than 850 airport lounges in more than 400 cities around the world, regardless of airline or ticket.

Membership gives you access to some of the most luxurious airport lounges, including free Wi-Fi, food and beverages, and in some cases, massage and spa treatments.

Family and friends can also join you on your flight, and if not, most airport lounges sell VIP daily tickets, so you can take advantage of them if you find yourself in a long layover waiting for your flight.
