“The existing facts of the so-called language patrols are all a provocation aimed at undermining the national unity of Kazakhstan,” RIA Novosti quotes Tokayev.
According to him, this was organized by professional provocateurs acting on instructions from the special services.
Tokayev explained that such actions are called “active measures” in the language of the special services.
“And they, unfortunately, take place in our country,” he said.
Last year, a resident of Kazakhstan published a series of videos online showing conflicts that occurred due to the fact that employees of shops and catering could not serve him and other people in the state language.
In August 2021, it was reported that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan was checking videos published by participants in the so-called language patrols.
