“The Investigative Committee, as part of the investigation of the criminal case on provocations in Bucha, will check the statement of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Irina Venediktova, about the alleged involvement of a number of Russian servicemen in torturing civilians,” the Telegram statement says.

According to investigators, a publication indicating the names and surnames of those "involved" in the brutal treatment of the military appeared on social networks.

“Venediktova’s publicly disseminated deliberately false statements about Russian servicemen will be given a legal assessment during the ongoing investigation,” the department stressed.

Earlier, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to study information about employees of the Kherson branch of the SBU, discovered by representatives of the Russian law enforcement agencies.
