Megaraptors were carnivorous dinosaurs that could be between five and nine meters long.

The newly discovered fossils in Argentina show that this megaraptor of the "maip" variety is the largest ever found.

It was ten meters long and weighed about five tons.

The well-preserved fossils were found in Argentina's Santa Cruz province in 2020 and provide detailed insights into the composition of the dinosaur, such as its muscles and ligaments.

Maip macrothorax roamed the Argentine Patagonia region about 70 million years ago during the Cretaceous.

The fossils are on display at the Buenos Aires Bernardino Rivadavia Science Museum.
