- For me, it was the first time I heard that there were problems with the work environment at school.

Since then, it has been understood that it was ongoing without receiving information about it, says Gina Eriksson Alfa, one of the parents.

SVT Gävleborg has previously reported on work environment problems at Näsviken's school outside Hudiksvall.

Several of the staff have been ill and had symptoms such as itching and difficulty breathing.

Now it turns out that the municipality's real estate department in a report already a year ago recommended the demolition of the affected school buildings.

But those recommendations were not followed.

- What we want to do in this situation is to get to the emergency measures.

Then we look at a long-term structure that is about several different schools.

We have a maintenance debt and many schools that need to be renovated, says Jonas Holm (M), chairman of the learning committee.

The opposition is critical

Now the opposition in the form of the Center Party and the Left Party is proposing immediate measures in accordance with the proposals from the real estate department's report.

- We want the school to be rebuilt, instead of working on and repairing and repairing, says Anton Stark (C), second vice chairman of the learning committee in Hudiksvall.

Right now, the learning committee is waiting for a response from the Swedish Work Environment Authority's investigation into the work environment at Näsviken's school.

The answer is expected in the coming days.

The Learning Board will meet on 12 May.
