Sunna Group AB is the company behind the investment and they have during the past year planned five large parks in central Sweden where the project in Vikbolandet is the largest.

The reason why they chose this particular area is that the landowners have previously had problems with floods, which makes the land acidic and low in energy for agriculture.

The company is now applying for a permit from the County Administrative Board, which means that the size can change depending on what is on the intended land.

When the park is fully developed, the idea is that it will generate 95,000 MegaWatt hours per year, which is enough to supply the electricity consumption of thousands of villas.

- It is difficult to say how many villas exactly as it can differ a lot in what a house pulls, says Marcus Qviberg.

Östergötland already has one of Sweden's largest solar parks.

In Linköping, there is a park next to Gärstadverket and consists of 30,000 solar panels.
