The Ball des Sports returns to Frankfurt next year.
From 2023 to 2027 there will be dancing for a good cause in the festival hall of the Frankfurt Trade Fair.
The German Sports Aid Foundation decided that as the organizer.
Frankfurt had expressed interest in the benefit event after Wiesbaden could no longer find a majority to provide the necessary subsidy.
The Ball des Sports with its 51st edition will therefore take place for the last time on July 16th in the Rhein-Main Congress Center in Wiesbaden.
Because of the corona pandemic, it had been postponed from the usual date in early February.

"We are certain that Europe's largest charity event in sports will have a very worthy new - and at the same time old - home in the sports city of Frankfurt in the next few years," said Karsten Petry from the Sporthilfe board.
The first sport ball was celebrated in the Höchst Centennial Hall in 1970, and Frankfurt was also the host from 2002 to 2006 with the Festhalle.
Mainz was also one of the venues, but did not apply this time.
Head of sports department Mike Josef (SPD) spoke of an "attractive sports and social event" and thanked the state of Hesse, Lotto Hessen and other supporters from club sports to business, who had contributed to the success of the application.
