An explosion in Mosul..the governor denies the occurrence of a terrorist act

The local authorities in the city of Mosul, in northern Iraq, denied targeting the city, yesterday evening, with a terrorist act.

The governor of Nineveh said that the accident "caused by the explosion of a gas cylinder inside a civilian vehicle that was parked near a military clothing store. Two civilians were injured who were close to the site, which is crowded with pedestrians in the evening hours."

The Security Media Cell had said, earlier, yesterday, that a civilian was injured after an explosion "inside an Opel Vectra wheel inside a sub-street behind the Cultural Group Street in the city of Mosul, which led to the burning of the wheel, as preliminary information about the accident."

The head of the cell and director of the Relations and Information Department in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, Saad Maan, said in a tweet on the social networking site "Twitter", that forensic experts have begun the necessary procedures to find out the causes of the explosion.
