“Political morality prohibits strategy and convictions from diverging, even for reasons of transitory expediency.

This is what I call the truth”.

It is with a quote from Pierre Mendès France that the PS president of the Occitanie region, Carole Delga, decided to speak this Friday morning on the negotiations between her party and that of the Insoumis for the next legislative elections.

The socialist did not wait for the end of these exchanges to present Thursday the candidates of the PS and civil society who will seek next June a mandate as a deputy in the department of Jean Jaurès.

Divergence of projects

For her, there are still project differences between the two formations, whether on wind turbines or the Toulouse-Castres motorway.

“Our fellow citizens expect sincerity from us.

It is therefore necessary to say with honesty the moments when we can carry out a common project and those when we cannot”, she explained at the microphone of France Bleu Occitanie, refusing to be in “the political grub”.

If she specifies that according to the agreement, "we will take the necessary decisions or not", the former Secretary of State of François Hollande has never hidden her grievances against the leader of the Insoumis.

A few days before the first round of the presidential election, she assured the microphone of Sud Radio that "Jean-Luc Mélenchon's project is dangerous".

A criticism that she has made regularly in recent years, refusing to agree to the regional with LFI but also EELV.
