A fire broke out on Thursday in a biomass silo of the urban heating company Cynergie in Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône (Val-d'Oise).

The fire caused thick black smoke, visible for miles, reports

An important intervention device was immediately launched.

No fewer than 131 firefighters from 14 different rescue centers and around 30 vehicles were sent to the scene to contain the flames.

The firefighters of Val-d'Oise were supported by those of Yvelines and Paris.

An ongoing investigation

Several fire hoses were also brought to the scene by air and ground.

The twenty employees present in the premises at the time were quickly evacuated.

At 5 p.m., the fire was mostly contained and the risk of explosion had been ruled out.

Fortunately, the fire did not cause any injuries.

An investigation to determine the causes of the fire outbreak has been launched.

The same day, agents from the Regional and Interdepartmental Directorate for the Environment, Planning and Transport (Drieat) were already on site to collect elements.
