• Elections Juanma Moreno advances the Andalusian elections to June 19

white smoke.

The National Executive Committee of Vox has given the green light to

Macarena Olona

this Thursday as the party's candidate for the Junta de Andalucía in the

regional elections

that will be held on June 19.

Olona's candidacy had become an open secret.

The Vox leadership tried to maintain uncertainty, feeding the curiosity of supporters, voters and even political enemies.

He sought and obtained an informative quota and this Thursday, a few days after the Andalusian president,

Juanma Moreno

, advanced the elections, he has made the appointment official.

It is its usual policy: to wait first for the elections to be called and, later, to gather its main body to agree on the name of the candidate.

And

the move in Castilla y León

, with the appointment of an unknown

Juan García-Gallardo

as a candidate, had raised a lot of rumours.

Would Vox be capable of repeating a movement like that in Andalusia?

However, for months Olona had been day in and day out somewhere in Andalusia with the Vox flag.

"And where he went, there was a presence, there were supporters, there was movement," they point out from the party.

Her constant trips anticipated her imminent candidacy, but the party leadership was studying whether it was better to send her to Andalusia or keep her in Congress, where

she has become one of the main scourges of the Government

.

Until almost the end, there were voices that were committed to keeping her in Parliament and leaving the leadership for the recently called Andalusian elections in the hands of Manuel Gavira -the spokesman for Vox-, without ruling out a new 'Juan García-Gallardo'.

Gavira had the advantage of already maintaining good relations with the heavyweights of the PP Executive.

The party considered demographic studies with Olona and with other possible candidates.

And they detected that the jump with the national deputy as a candidate was significant, that with her a figure of more than twenty seats was always reached (now she has 12).

And, very importantly, in all the polls, the result of Olona allowed Vox to enter the Government of Andalusia.

The example of Castilla y León

Olona's bet is quite an ordeal for the political perspectives of Vox.

The party is aware that it can obtain a great result, but not be decisive for governability and remain outside the regional Executive.

That is the great bet of the Vox leadership with this candidacy: that a move like the one in Castilla y León comes out, where Vox was essential to form a Government.

From this formation they know that the play is "risky".

If the accounts do not come out, one of its greatest political potentials would be relegated to a seat in the Andalusian Parliament.

But

the bet of Santiago Abascal

and those who support him is that Olona becomes "at least" vice president of the Andalusian Executive together with Juanma Moreno.

From Vox there is enormous optimism in the face of elections that have been demanded for more than six months.

The surveys that this training handles do not show the data that is being published in the latest polls.

They point out that the distance between the PP and Vox is significantly lower and that the sum would be essential to form a government after June 19.

In any case, some sources indicate that it was very difficult for Olona not to finally be the candidate when an Andalusian atmosphere had already been created over her for months.

"It would have been very complicated. Many people would not have understood it," these sources point out.
