"The Church of Sweden's employers 'organization can not sign a conversion agreement that will be at least eight times more expensive than today, and at the same time maintain long notice periods and the uniquely costly wage guarantee when relocating," says Cecilia Herm, chief negotiator of the Church of Sweden's employers' organization.

Tomorrow, Friday at 9 o'clock, the LO union Kommunal's announced strike and overtime block will break out if no agreement has been reached before then.

The strike notice affects approximately 500 members who work for the Church of Sweden and the overtime blockade over 5,000. Affected groups include crematorium workers and caretakers.

According to the union, the conflict is about having equal opportunities for adjustment for church staff that the majority in the Swedish labor market already has, without deterioration in conditions.
