China News Service, April 28. According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korea’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Energy said on the 27th that the South Korean government has decided to provide some of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) in government reserves to Europe, which is facing an energy crisis due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

According to reports, South Korea's Ministry of Industry said that South Korea's domestic LNG supply is relatively stable at present, so the government has decided to provide some reserves for Europe without affecting domestic supply and gas prices.

Regarding details such as supply time and quantity, the Ministry of Industry said it is not appropriate to disclose relevant information at this time, the report said.

The report also said that the U.S. government had asked South Korea to supply gas to Europe in February, but South Korea refused at that time, citing unstable domestic supplies.

Earlier, Gazprom issued a statement on the 27th saying that Gazprom had completely stopped supplying gas to Bulgarian Gas Company (Bulgargaz) and Polish Petroleum and Natural Gas Company (PGNiG) for failing to pay for natural gas in Russian rubles on time.
