According to the Investigative Committee of Russia, more than 280 defendants were identified during the investigation of the crimes of Ukrainian security forces against residents of Donbass.

From 20 to 27 April alone, 10 individuals were identified as being involved in attacks on the civilian population. 

It is noted that as part of the investigation of the criminal case related to the shelling of the city of Shchastya (LPR) on February 27 and 28, 2022, almost 1,900 victims were interviewed, including 16 children.

In total, more than 5,600 civilians were recognized as victims, including 56 children.

The victims prepared claims for a total amount of 1 billion 700 million rubles. 

During the collection of evidence and evidence, investigators interrogated over 2,500 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and employees of other law enforcement agencies who were taken prisoner.

Currently, more than 300 military investigators continue to work in the LPR and DPR.

They receive the necessary support and assistance from the Russian Ministry of Defense and law enforcement agencies of Donbass. 

Earlier, the Russian Investigative Committee reported that at least 16 formations with mercenaries from more than 50 countries were created in Ukraine.
