A 23-year-old young man was arrested overnight from Monday to Tuesday in Saint-Martin-d'Hères, in the metropolis of Grenoble (Isère).

He presented himself to the police station, reports

He is suspected of having stabbed his brother several times during a family dispute on Saturday afternoon.

He also slightly injured his cousin, who was trying to intervene to end the altercation and disarm him.

Indicted for attempted murder

The younger brother, aged 20, was taken care of by the firefighters.

His vital prognosis was engaged but he is now off the hook.

The assailant left the scene as paramedics arrived to attend to the victims.

He was presented to the prosecution on Wednesday after his police custody and was indicted for "attempted murder" and "violence without incapacity with a weapon".

He was released until his trial.

An interview with a psychiatrist is planned in order to assess the responsibility of the suspect, who is said to be suffering from psychological disorders.
