A 54-year-old man lost his life, hit by a van on the A43 this Wednesday around 5:30 a.m. at Ruy-Montceau (Isère).

The victim is a highway agent, in intervention at the time of the facts, reports France Bleu Isère.

Two of his colleagues aged 60 and 32 were also injured.

The vital prognosis of the first has been engaged.

The driver of the van is German, specifies Le Dauphiné Libéré.

Unharmed, he was taken into custody after the accident.

He may have been driving under the influence of narcotics.

The public prosecutor, however, considered that it was “too early” to decide.

An investigation for manslaughter by the driver of a vehicle has been opened.
