A 26-year-old man detained in Brest prison (Finistère) was taken from his cell on Wednesday to be heard by the police investigating a theft.

The facts date back to January 3, 2021, the day a burglar broke into a nursing center in the city in the middle of the night.

To enter, the criminal had forced open a shutter and broken a pane.

Blood had been found on the floor and on a closet door.

DNA analysis had shown that it belonged to the prisoner, imprisoned until September 2022 for previous burglary.

The suspect, however, said during his hearing that he was not the author of the burglary.

He claimed to have been abroad at the time of the incident.

The young man was taken back to prison after his interrogation by the police.

His presentation to a judicial police officer is scheduled for June 10.
