The route of the eastern link through Linköping is in principle determined

The Stening corridor means that Ostlänken does not end in Linköping, but continues to Vikingstad.

There, the tracks will then be connected to the Södra stambanan.

The extension means that future routes need to be started earlier.

The Swedish Transport Administration's focus is a route north of Malmslätt and south of the E4, on to Vikingstad.

To the newspaper, Ostlänken's program manager, Alexander Santos, says that he believes that this is the best alternative, but that it requires a decision from the authority's director general.
