China News Service, Beijing, April 27 (Xie Yanbing and Zhang Su) Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin hosted a regular press conference on April 27.

A reporter asked: After yesterday's terrorist attack on the shuttle bus of the Confucius Institute in Karachi, Pakistan, both China and Pakistan strongly condemned it.

Can the spokesperson further introduce the situation of the incident and the progress of emergency response?

Wang Wenbin: We once again express our deep condolences to the victims of the two countries and our sincere condolences to the injured and their families.

This was a deliberately premeditated suicide terrorist attack targeting Chinese citizens.

Terrorists directly target teachers, the inheritors of human civilization and promoters of cultural exchanges. The nature is very bad and their actions are outrageous.

China expresses strong condemnation and great indignation.

  People first, life first.

The Chinese government has always attached great importance to the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions overseas.

After the attack, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese embassy and consulates in Pakistan, in accordance with the requirements of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, immediately activated the emergency response mechanism and dispatched personnel to the scene to deal with it.

The heads of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese embassies and consulates in Pakistan demanded the Pakistani side to make every effort to rescue and deal with the aftermath, investigate the matter immediately, arrest the perpetrators and punish them in accordance with the law.

At the same time, stronger measures will be taken to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in Pakistan, and such incidents will never happen again.

The embassy and consulate in Pakistan also reminded Chinese institutions and personnel in Pakistan to strengthen their awareness of security precautions, improve their security level, and ensure their own safety.

Relevant domestic departments and local governments acted quickly, divided labor and cooperated, and did a good job in emergency response.

The Chinese Consul General in Karachi went to the hospital yesterday to visit the injured Chinese teacher. The injured have been properly treated and are recovering.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shabazz went to the Chinese embassy in Pakistan to offer condolences on the night of April 26, stressing that the Pakistani government is using all its forces to conduct an in-depth investigation of the incident, and will stop at any cost to arrest the perpetrators and punish the perpetrators severely.

The Pakistani government promises to fully cooperate with the aftermath and take further measures to strengthen the security of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions in Pakistan, and will never allow any force to undermine the great China-Pakistan friendship and cooperation.

Here, I would like to stress that terrorism is the common enemy of all mankind.

Chinese blood will not be shed in vain.

The Chinese side firmly supports the Pakistani side's counter-terrorism efforts, and will work with the Pakistani side to pursue the culprits with all their might, so that the culprits behind the scenes will be punished justly and severely and pay a heavy price.

We also remind Chinese citizens in Pakistan to pay close attention to the local security situation and strictly guard against security risks.
