Macron pelted tomatoes in his first round since winning a second term

French President Emmanuel Macron was pelted with tomatoes on Wednesday, but he was not hurt, on a field trip to a market near Paris, his first since winning a new presidential term on Sunday, AFP correspondents reported.

As Macron was chatting with passersby in the middle of the Cergy-Pontoise market in the northwestern suburb of Paris, cherry tomatoes were fired at him, which did not hit him.
