A few minutes before the proclamation of the official presidential results on Wednesday, at 4 p.m., Emmanuel Macron will reappear on the public scene.

The head of state, who has been discreet since the brief celebration of his victory on Sunday evening, will preside over a national tribute to comedian Michel Bouquet.

For his first official outing since his re-election, Emmanuel Macron will find the court of the Invalides.

He will preside over the ceremony in honor of Michel Bouquet, who died at the age of 96.

Two weeks ago, at the time of the disappearance of the actor, monument of French theater and twice Caesarized for his roles in the cinema, the Head of State had saluted the memory of an "unforgettable master, for generations of actors".

A solemn and unifying exercise

The eulogy will be delivered at 4:30 p.m. by the President.

A solemn and unifying exercise to which he attaches particular importance since he has been at the Élysée.

From Simone Weil to Jean-Paul Belmondo via Charles Aznavour or Jean d'Ormesson, the national tributes granted to civilian personalities followed one another throughout the five-year term.

Closing the loop of the first five-year term

That of Michel Bouquet will be the eleventh decided and chaired by Emmanuel Macron.

A record under the Fifth Republic.

A man of culture, modest and not very fond of social events, Michel Bouquet had made a notable exception five years ago by attending the investiture of Emmanuel Macron.

For the president, this ceremony will therefore also, in a way, be an opportunity to complete the circle of his first five-year term, a few minutes before the official proclamation of the results of the presidential election.
