The port of Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) is plagued by drug trafficking, mainly cocaine.

The scene that happened yesterday is proof of that, if need be.

On a video and photos shared on social networks, we see men in civilian clothes shooting at a vehicle which jostles them while fleeing near an open blue truck, at the foot of which heaps of white bags are abandoned.

Images worthy of a film.

Black.

According to police sources, quoted by AFP and France 3 Normandy, the judicial police of Le Havre were monitoring a truck which they suspected of containing narcotics "when a utility came to try to recover the goods".

“About ten shots were fired”

“The police intervened and the vehicle drove into them.

They opened fire for their safety.

About ten shots were fired.

The vehicle was able to flee but it was intercepted shortly afterwards with a man inside.

He was placed in police custody, ”explains the Lille prosecution.

It is the specialized interregional jurisdiction (Jirs) of the capital of Hauts-de-France which was seized of this investigation.

Several bags of drugs were seized, a priori cocaine.

According to France 3 Normandy, the truck, watched by the police, broke down around 10 a.m. and at least one person then tried to unload the goods from the semi-trailer which had just left the port enclosure, before attempting to store it in another vehicle, hence the decision to proceed with arrests.

A process that has already been used several times in Le Havre.

The individuals who accompanied the arrested suspect are still being actively sought.
