UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who embarked on an intermediary between Russia and Ukraine, which continues its military invasion, visited Moscow to meet with President Putin.

The United Nations has announced that it has agreed to involve the United Nations to evacuate what appears to be left-behind in Mariupol, eastern Ukraine, but it is still unclear whether it will help to resolve the situation.

On the 26th, UN Secretary-General António Guterres visited Moscow, the capital of Russia, for the first time since the military invasion by Russia began, and met with President Putin.

President Putin, who welcomed Secretary-General António Guterres at Kremlin's long desk, reiterated the legitimacy that the military invasion was to protect Russians in eastern Ukraine, and many citizens in Bucha near the capital Kieu. He also claimed that the Russian army was not involved and was provoked by the Ukrainian side when he was found murdered.

On top of that, he said, "The Ukrainian army is behaving like a terrorist with civilians as a shield. The humanitarian corridor set up by the Russian side is functioning." He said and blamed the Ukrainian side.

In response, Secretary-General António Guterres said, "Russia and Ukraine need to work together to solve the problem," and suggested that a forum be set up for both sides to evacuate the citizens.

After the meeting, the United Nations announced that "in principle, the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross have agreed to be involved in the evacuation of citizens," and future concrete discussions will be held with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and Russia. It is supposed to be done among the Department of Defense.

Secretary-General António Guterres will move to Ukraine after this and will meet with President Zelensky on the 28th, but Putin has not broken his strong stance toward the Ukraine side, and it is still possible that mediation by the UN top will lead to a breakthrough. The situation is uncertain.
