It was before Easter that Håkan Kerrén, the former head of the emergency department in Helsingborg, resigned.

No explanation has been given for what is behind it.

The now acting manager Marcus Larsson will take over the role until the turn of the year and hopes for long-term solutions to overcome the staff shortage.

- I hope that this autumn we have a good summer behind us and that we have improved our work processes instead of putting out fires as we do now.

It would have been fun to see, says Marcus Larsson.

An annual problem

The hospital manager Thomas Wallén in Helsingborg is concerned about the situation and believes that the staff shortage is a recurring topic.

This year, staff from Ängelholm Hospital will be assisted and administrative staff with any relevant nursing education will work in the emergency room this summer.

- These are decisions we have to make, he says.
