The Federation Council approved the law on free gas supplies for Eternal Lights and Memory Lights

It is reported by RIA Novosti.

It follows from the explanatory note that the document was developed to preserve and respect the memory of those who died defending the Fatherland.

The law empowers the Russian government to establish the principles for setting the price of gas, as well as tariffs for its transportation services to ensure the constant burning of the Eternal Flame and the periodic Flame of Remembrance.

According to the register of the Ministry of Defense, as of March 4, there are 2825 Eternal Lights and Lights of Memory in Russia.

Earlier, Nevskiye Novosti reported that a memorial complex in honor of those who died during the Great Patriotic War will appear in the Gatchinsky District of the Leningrad Region.
