It was a spectator who gave the alert to report that a railing weighing several tons was moving.

The area was immediately closed to the public before firefighters secured the structure with straps.

On Monday, experts went to the site to assess the extent of the damage.

And the news is rather reassuring according to the Breton club which confirms "that there has never been any risk of collapse at Roazhon Park".

“No danger for the reception of the public”

Reinforcement work will still be carried out during the week.

A new expertise scheduled for Tuesday should thus allow “to define the intervention in more detail”, underlines Stade Rennais, specifying that the site will be minimal.

While the Rouge et Noir receive Saint-Etienne on Saturday for the 35th day of Ligue 1, the club also specifies that there is "no danger for the reception of the public or for the opening of all accesses" .

Saint-Etienne supporters banned from traveling

The Ille-et-Vilaine prefecture has issued an order prohibiting the movement of Saint-Etienne supporters during the match against Stade Rennais scheduled for Saturday evening.

The authorities justify their decision by indicating that the movements of the Greens "are regularly marked by incidents".
