SVT's Russia correspondent Bert Sundström points out after the meeting in Moscow that it will be very obvious that there are two totally different opinions about what is happening in Ukraine.

Lavrov presents a completely distorted picture of what is happening and claims that there were not really many in the General Assembly who voted against Russia's war in Ukraine.

- Of course, Russia had the support of Eritrea and Syria, but this is a distorted picture of the reality that Russia has been carrying out for months now.

It is almost embarrassing how Lavrov stands there and broadly actually lies about what is happening in Ukraine.

When asked what the meeting could lead to, Bert Sundström answers "nothing".

- On the one hand, Guterres and the UN are an irrelevant player in this.

Russia has a veto in the UN Security Council, so any proposal that wants Russia's aggression in Ukraine to end will be met by a veto.

The meeting with Putin, I would guess, will be just as fruitless.

An awkward attempt by the UN to create a path to peace.
