Twitter, the American social media giant, has announced that it has agreed to accept a takeover offer from the world's richest businessman, Elon Musk.

Mr. Musk will acquire 100% of the shares of Twitter, and the total acquisition amount will be 44 billion dollars, which is about 5.6 trillion yen in Japanese yen.



With the acquisition, Twitter's shares will be private.



In response to the proposal, the company initially announced the introduction of takeover defense measures, but Mr. Musk revealed that he was considering a takeover bid for TOB = shares with a view to raising funds.
