On Sunday, two crimes with similar approaches occurred in the Jönköping area.

At 6.30 pm, a woman in her 90s was contacted by a man who said he was calling the police.

The man said that the woman had lost a large amount and that a police officer would come to the woman's home and pick up her bank card.

A woman then came home to the elderly woman and stole bank cards and jewelry.

- I think it's too damn, says Niklas Brännström who is group manager for the Jönköping police's fraud group.

The older woman managed to block her bank card and no money should have disappeared from the account.

Struck two hours later

Two hours later, another woman in her 90s was hit by the same approach, where the man who called said that the woman had been subjected to a burglary and that she would get help from a police officer.

She got rid of jewelry after the fake police entered her home.

At present there are no suspects and the criminal classifications are aggravated theft, attempted fraud, pretense of public status and arbitrary proceedings.

- I want to encourage everyone who gets this type of phone call to request to see identification of the police so that you can ensure that they are police, says Niklas Brännström.

Strikes against the elders

At the same time, crimes against the elderly have increased in recent years and the perpetrators are increasingly focusing on cracking down on the very elderly.

In the clip above, Niklas Brännström tells more about it.
