Bis repeated.

As on the evening of the first round of the presidential election, several hundred people gathered in the city center of Rennes on Sunday evening to show their opposition to the result of the presidential election.

Shortly after 8 p.m. and the announcement of Emmanuel Macron's victory over Marine Le Pen, a rally took place on Place Sainte-Anne.

According to the prefecture of Ille-et-Vilaine, around 250 people were present at the height of the demonstration.

The police made seven arrests.

Garbage fires lit by some participants forced firefighters to intervene on three occasions.

Present in large numbers to secure the crowd, the police fired a few tear gas canisters to disperse the crowd, including many "antifas".

A large banner was unfurled: “What we won't get through the ballot box, we will get through the street”.

"We want to demonstrate to show that Le Pen we don't want him at all but Macron we don't want him either," explained Nora, a 21-year-old student.

We have to organize ourselves to find a counter-power”.
