A man was sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of 500 euros by the criminal court of Nîmes (Gard) after a chase on a motocross which gave the gendarmes cold sweats.

On April 14, the gendarmes had been alerted by witnesses that a man was taking all the risks in Pont-Saint-Esprit.

He was accused of having driven at high speed, without a helmet, and of having slalomed between vehicles and passers-by, narrowly missing several of them.

The man even fell, without being injured.

The driver, located by the police, did not want to comply, refusing to stop, and even trying to escape them.

Faced with his determination and in order not to endanger other users, the gendarmes ended the pursuit.

Investigations have made it possible to identify him, and to arrest him, in the Vaucluse.

Placed in police custody, he admitted the twelve offenses reported against him, including endangering the lives of others and refusing to comply.

He was, before his judgment, already known to justice for similar facts, and wearing an electronic bracelet.
