The Investigative Committee of Russia announced the arrest of six defendants in a criminal case on the attempted murder of Russian journalist Vladimir Solovyov.

The department emphasized that the criminals planned to blow up Solovyov's car in Moscow.

“Six accomplices in the crime are members of the neo-Nazi terrorist organization National Socialism / White Power (“National Socialism / White Power, Power”) * banned in Russia.

All of them are suspected of committing a crime under Part 1 of Art.

30 pp.

"b, f, g, h", part 2 of Art.

105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," the ministry said.

During the searches, accompanied by the FSB of Russia, the detainees were found components for making an improvised explosive device, weapons and ammunition, Nazi symbols and drugs.

Fake passports of citizens of Ukraine were also found, added to the Investigative Committee.

According to the FSB report, the murder was planned on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the testimony of one of the detainees, they received assignments from the SBU and also discussed the possibility of killing Dmitry Kiselyov, general director of the Rossiya Segodnya media group, Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of RT, and other journalists.

On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that FSB officers stopped the activities of a terrorist group that planned the murder of a well-known Russian journalist.

Later, the FSB clarified that the attack was planned on Vladimir Solovyov.

“This morning, the Federal Security Service stopped the activities of a terrorist group that planned the attack and murder of one of the well-known Russian TV journalists,” Putin said at an expanded meeting of the board of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The President added that the facts and evidence of this are irrefutable, and stressed the need to "suppress any crimes on the territory of the Russian Federation in the most resolute way."

Putin drew attention to the fact that in Europe and the United States they are trying to split Russian society and destroy Russia from the inside, but this does not work.

“Our society shows maturity, solidarity, supports our armed forces, supports our efforts aimed at ensuring, unconditionally ensuring the security of Russia itself and supporting citizens living in the Donbass ... And since they are defeated in this information field, fooling, of course, of their citizens, using their monopoly position in the information space of their countries and in some other countries, but failing here, on the territory of Russia, they switched to terror, to preparing the murders of our journalists, ”the head of state emphasized.

According to Putin, Moscow "knows by name curators from Western services, primarily, of course, from the US CIA, who work with the security agencies of Ukraine."

“Apparently, they give such advice.

So much for the attitude to the rights of journalists, to the dissemination of information,” he said.

Putin called on the Investigative Committee of Russia to record such crimes in detail, identify their organizers and perpetrators, and open criminal cases.

“On these and all other facts, prosecutors should, together with investigators, participate in the formation of the necessary evidence base, which should be used in court proceedings, including at the international level,” he stressed.

In turn, the FSB also reported that during the searches, the officers seized homemade explosives, Molotov cocktails, six Makarov pistols, a sawn-off hunting rifle, an RGD-5 grenade, and more than 1,000 cartridges of various calibers.

The detainees give confessions.

In particular, they said that after the murder of the journalist they planned to hide abroad.

Vladimir Solovyov himself, in a conversation with RIA Novosti, said that he did not notice any surveillance of himself.

“No, I didn't notice anything.

No, there were no manifestations, which indicates how professionally and accurately our competent authorities worked,” he said.

The journalist also thanked the FSB officers.

In addition, he noted that he had been dealing with issues of his own security for some time in connection with threats from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
