In December, they fell to the Court of Appeal, which acquitted Daniel Kindberg and the suspected accomplices of the suspicions of serious financial crime in connection with the construction of Stadsdel norr in Östersund.

In 2018, Ångermanland District Court had sentenced Kindberg to three years in prison and a five-year ban on infidelity against a principal, gross infidelity against a principal, aiding and abetting infidelity against a principal, a serious accounting offense and aiding and abetting a serious accounting offense.

The co-accused entrepreneur from Sollefteå, was simultaneously sentenced to two and a half years in prison.

A judgment that was thus overturned by the Court of Appeal.

A brand new trial is now beginning where Daniel Kindberg and four other people are charged with bribery.

Apartment renovation, three-chamber well and consulting agreement

This time, Östersund District Court is the arena and the investigation has been made by the National Unit against Corruption.

These include an apartment renovation that, according to the indictment, was carried out by Peab for a relative of Östersundshem's former vice president and a three-chamber well that was installed on a private property.

But above all, it is about a consulting agreement between Daniel Kindberg, then CEO of Östersundshem, Hans Carlsson, then vice president of Östersundshem and the construction company Pilgrimsta hus.

A company that at this time was frequently hired by Östersundshem.

Among other things, it was they who built the mentioned attefallshusen.

The suspects must have invoiced Pilgrimsta hus over 10 million

According to the prosecution, Daniel Kindberg must have invoiced Pilgrimsta hus on 31 occasions through the consulting agreements for a total of SEK 5.5 million.

Hans Carlsson is accused of invoicing Pilgrimsta hus for a total of 4.7 million via his own company on 24 occasions.

For this, Daniel Kindberg and Hans Carlsson are charged with aggravated bribery.

A representative of Pilgrimsta House is charged with aggravated bribery.

According to the prosecution, the invoices have been deficient and have not met the requirements for what the voucher must contain.

The indictment states that the crimes are serious because they involved significant amounts "and were part of a crime that was committed systematically".

Former Peab employees are also being prosecuted

Two former employees of Peab are also charged.

One of them is charged, suspected of grossly giving a bribe.

The person is suspected of having made Peab pay the cost when an apartment for Hans Carlsson's relative was renovated.

Both are also suspected of having together made sure that a three-chamber well was installed at one of them.

Even at Peab's expense.

For this, one of them is charged with infidelity against the principal and the other with aiding and abetting infidelity with the principal.

All five deny the crime.

The trial is expected to take 15 days.
