In a proposal from the Social Democrats, independent schools should be able to receive less in compensation than municipal schools, because they have a larger assignment.

The proposal also means that municipalities must carry out a proper impact assessment before the Swedish Schools Inspectorate gives permission for a free school in the municipality.

Already today, the Swedish Schools Inspectorate must weigh in on significant negative consequences for the municipality?

- Yes, but it is far too vaguely worded.

The impact assessment will be mandatory.

We will see if that is enough, if it is still a problem, I will not hesitate to come forward with an establishment veto for the municipalities, says Lina Axelsson Kihlblom (S), Minister of Education.

The vote in the Riksdag on the school proposal is 7 and 15 June.
