The far-right candidate, defeated by Emmanuel Macron, called on Sunday evening to embark on "the great battle" of the legislative elections of June 12 and 19.

"Do not leave full powers to Emmanuel Macron", who is "an authoritarian leader", launched the acting president of the National Rally Jordan Bardella, arriving at the party headquarters where the executive office (management) and the national office (extended management).

Before embarking on this new campaign, the MP for Pas-de-Calais, who should run again, will take a few days off before celebrating Joan of Arc on May 1.

She will also chair a video conference that day "with all the candidates and executives for the legislative elections".

The RN intends to invest by the end of the week as many candidates as constituencies, i.e. 577.

"Not Ours"

But with the voting system, majority in two rounds, he must forge alliances to win the election, recalled Brice Teinturier, director of Ipsos, on France Inter.

"If you have 50% abstention, you have to get 25% of the votes cast (to access the second round, editor's note). This therefore supposes alliances everywhere in order to be able to win".

A challenge for the RN, who does not seem willing to compromise.

“We are not going to embark on alliances on theories which are not ours”, affirmed on BFMTV the deputy and spokesperson for the RN Sébastien Chenu.

Marine Le Pen for her part ignored, between the two rounds, her far-right rival Eric Zemmour, who won 7% of the vote.

"He would have to accept that Marine Le Pen is the leader of the opposition," said Jean-Philippe Tanguy, ex-number two in the campaign, on Monday.

"Nobody wants to ally with (the RN). And this inability, this difficulty in forging alliances is fatal to him in an election like the legislative elections. And that's why (...) we must not conclude too quickly to a possible cohabitation", analysis with AFP Mr. Teinturier.

In February, Marine Le Pen ruled out any possibility of an agreement with the candidates Reconquest!

came from the RN.

"Those who went to Eric Zemmour, it's a one-way trip".

Meet

The former polemicist on Sunday invited the "national bloc" to "unite", while criticizing the eighth defeat of a Le Pen in the presidential election.

Then on Monday, the vice-presidents of Reconquest, the ex-LR Guillaume Peltier, and the ex-RN Marion Maréchal and Nicolas Bay, proposed a "meeting" to forge an "agreement".

"The left is talking to each other, it's up to us to do it too", supported the head of young people at Reconquest, Stanislas Rigault, who could present himself and be the subject of discussions with the RN.

But except in special cases, the movement of Marine Le Pen does not envisage any alliance of apparatus.

Eric Zemmour, "he must deflate his head, which is huge, and stop insulting people", slammed Louis Aliot, vice-president of the RN.

Between the two rounds, the leader of the RN winked more at the voters of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who were around 18% to vote for her on Sunday, according to BVA, instead of around 7% in 2017.

In the legislative elections, Marine Le Pen will also have to take into account abstention, which particularly affects the working classes and young people, at the heart of her electorate, and which had prevented her from winning a single region in 2021.

As for the presidency of the RN, it should remain until September in the hands of his faithful lieutenant Jordan Bardella.
