In a strange event, a fight and fistfight broke out between members of the Iraqi police and army in front of passers-by on a Baghdad street, something that was met with sharp criticism on the Iraqi social media platforms.

Social networking sites in Iraq were buzzing with a video clip showing a fist fight between police members and others from the army, near Yarmouk Hospital in the capital, Baghdad, where the video shows the army and police beating some of them severely.

Iraqis, through their accounts on social media platforms, criticized the army and police, who clashed with hands in the street and in front of passers-by, calling on the Ministries of Defense and Interior to enter their personnel into training courses to prevent the recurrence of such scenes.

"Unfortunately, when the conflict between the police and the army is near Yarmouk Hospital, the two detachments must be severely punished to curb this unacceptable measure," said the military expert and retired Major General Jamal al-Halbousi, via his Twitter account.

Blogger Abbas Salal al-Rubaie said, through his Facebook account, "A very shameful scene that shows the state of the military system, a quarrel between the army and the police. The army was not a wall to the homeland with this view, and the police were not in the service of the people with this view."
