At a dinner held at the Iikura Public Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Hayashi was sound as the international community faced major changes such as Russia's military invasion of Ukraine and North Korea's intensification of nuclear and missile activities. On that basis, Minister Hayashi expressed his hope for the leadership of President-elect Yun, saying that it is necessary to develop relations based on the friendship and cooperation between Japan and South Korea that he has built since the normalization of diplomatic relations in 1965. He expressed his desire to work closely with the new administration for improvement.



In response, the South Korean delegation explained the basic position and ideas of wanting to improve Japan-South Korea relations, and exchanged opinions, including concerns between Japan and South Korea.
