A teenager was stabbed Monday afternoon in the middle of the street in Evry-Courcouronnes in Essonne.
He was taken to hospital with a vital prognosis, said the Evry prosecution, requested by AFP.
Subject to his identity being confirmed, the victim would be 14 years old, said the public prosecutor who opened an investigation for “attempted murder of a minor”, entrusted to the departmental security of Essonne.
Stabbing in the thigh
The teenager was leaving college with two comrades when he was assaulted without apparent reason by a stranger "about the same age", detailed a police source, according to the two witnesses, "very shocked".
The assailant stabbed him in the thigh, hitting the femoral artery, according to the same source.
He then fled and no arrests have been made for the time being in this case, the prosecution said.
Violence between young people
Last Wednesday in Longjumeau, a 15-year-old minor was seriously injured during a brawl between around thirty people from rival neighborhoods, in front of a vocational school.
Four young men between the ages of 17 and 18 were arrested in connection with this case.
The Essonne department is regularly the scene of violence between young people and was badly affected last year, with three young people dead.
