An inmate throws boiling oil on a supervisor, in Nantes

The unions speak of a “premeditated attack”.

Sunday morning, at the Nantes detention center, a prison guard was injured by an inmate who allegedly sprayed him with boiling oil, report Unsa and FO Justice.

The facts took place around 7 am at the time of the morning check.

The detainee would have liked to negotiate to recover a mobile phone, which had been confiscated from him the day before, report the unions.

It was when the door opened that he grabbed a saucepan and threw the contents in the direction of the prison officer.

According to the

newspaper , the supervisor was taken to hospital for burns.

The detainee in question is a 27-year-old man, who is serving a twelve-year prison sentence for rape and attempted rape.

He was placed in a disciplinary cell.
