As soon as the presidential election is over, the electoral campaign for the legislative elections begins.

The first to have initiated it is Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of insubordinate France (LFI), by asking the French to elect him Prime Minister.

In Marseille, LFI activists are fighting to see this project happen.

In the minutes that followed the announcement of Emmanuel Macron's re-election, the next ballot, namely the legislative elections, popped into everyone's mind.

Eric Zemmour, candidate for the Reconquête! party, took the floor to call for the union of the right-wing camp to form a group of sovereignists in the National Assembly.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of France Insoumise, reiterated his appeal to the French to elect him Prime Minister.

If the Prime Minister is not elected but appointed, a majority of the Popular Union can impose cohabitation on Emmanuel Macron.

In Marseille, stronghold of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Mélenchon activists are already mobilizing more than a month before the first round of these legislative elections.

"We want a union around a real social project"

Katya Yacoubi is the organizer of the People's Union campaign in Marseille.

The activist has already started work for the legislative elections.

"The negotiations are underway and they are good. You will get answers very quickly. We can do it, we are for the union and we always have been," said Katya Yacoubi at the microphone of Europe 1.

"We want a union around a real social project, a project of rupture. We don't want an old-fashioned union of the left. We have built a common house called the Popular Union and we want expand it, provided that we agree on a number of programmatic points. Otherwise, it's useless. If it's to save places and not fight behind for a real social project, It's absolutely useless," she said.
