“The detention of members of the SMM in Donetsk and Luhansk is unacceptable and we call for their immediate release.

They were detained for participating in administrative activities that are part of their official duties as OSCE staff,” Rau said.

Earlier, the Ministry of State Security of the Luhansk People's Republic reported that it had detained two members of the Luhansk OSCE SMM team on suspicion of treason.

The Prosecutor General's Office of the DPR opened a criminal case against several employees of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission.

Later, an OSCE employee detained in the LPR admitted to passing classified information to foreign intelligence services.
