Faced with this observation, he called on voters to mobilize for the "third round", in reference to the June legislative elections during which he hopes that a majority will be given to "deputies of the new popular union which must expand ".

"Madame Le Pen and Mr. Macron have barely more than a third of registered voters," said Mr. Mélenchon.

Regarding the far-right candidate, he underlined that "France clearly refused to entrust him with the presidency and this is very good news for the unity of our people".

"At present, Mr. Macron is the most poorly elected of the presidents of the Fifth Republic" and "he floats in an ocean of abstention, of blank and invalid ballots", he said.

"My thoughts turn to the future victims of this situation, the worn-out people who will retire three years later, the people who are financially strapped and who will not see prices being blocked, the people who know how Mr. Macron's ecological inaction is a crime," he said.

"Don't resign yourself," he said.

"Take action frankly, massively, democracy can give us the means to change course again".

"The third round begins tonight, June 12 and 19, another world is still possible if you elect a majority of deputies of the new popular union which must expand".

Jean-Luc Mélenchon "can be Prime Minister, not to be Prime Minister, but to apply his program, freeze prices, increase the minimum wage, ensure that we create the Sixth Republic", declared his campaign manager, Manuel Bompard.
