“The ten-year period established by the bill, after which it will not be possible to make a decision on the termination of Russian citizenship in connection with violations committed in the process of admission to Russian citizenship, will not apply to cases of termination of Russian citizenship in connection with the commission of crimes,” TASS quotes the press Centre.

It is noted that these grounds apply to persons who have acquired citizenship by way of admission.

On December 30, 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that postpones to January 1, 2023 the deadline for civil servants to renounce foreign citizenship or residence permits.
