Coinciding with the increase in the number of martyrs and detainees in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Palestinians’ celebration of the blessed month of Ramadan, and their thwarting attempts by the Israeli occupation to desecrate Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Israeli army announced the imposition of a tight closure on the West Bank and Gaza days before the blessed Eid Al-Fitr.

Meanwhile, activists around the world launched a campaign on Twitter to channel Eid al-Fitr zakat funds to support Palestinians in their crisis, with tweets under the hashtags #Al AqsaUnderAttack, #Palestine_my cause, and #Palestine.

Activists exchanged links to transfer funds to several organizations, including Care For Gaza, Human Appeal, Palestine Children's Relief Fund and others, all of which are licensed charitable organizations. A special program to collect zakat for children and those affected in Palestine.

Al-Aqsa and Gaza... Crises before the holidays

The Israeli occupation forces began storming Al-Aqsa Mosque on April 15, corresponding to Ramadan 14, leaving dozens of injured and detainees until today, without international intervention to stop the violence, which heralds a humanitarian catastrophe while we are on the threshold of Eid Al-Fitr.

And the World Health Organization announced that it had monitored 24 attacks on the Palestinian medical system, injuring 18 of its workers, with an increase in the severity of the shortage of livelihoods under the tight closure of the Strip.

Since April, @WHO has recorded 24 attacks against health care in the #WestBank, including 18 in East Jerusalem.

19 health workers were injured in the attacks.

Health care should be respected and protected at all times.

The Gaza Strip is considered one of the most densely populated areas in the world, yet 90% of the people face a crisis of lack of potable water and live with minimal basic services, according to the United Nations report for the year 2022.

The Palestinians in the Gaza Strip entered their 12th year under the stifling siege imposed by Israel, and the effects of the violence in May 2021 continue to cast a shadow on the infrastructure, and the imposed restrictions led to a severe shortage of electricity, which hinders hospitals from working at full capacity to provide relief to the injured.

The situation prompted activists from inside and outside Gaza to direct the world towards an imminent humanitarian crisis, and remind Muslims that Ramadan is the most appropriate time to help the needy in Palestine, and to follow the Prophet’s Sunnah by paying alms and directing zakat to support families affected by the Israeli attack, under more than one name such as “zakat iftar.” Charity to buy Eid clothes for orphans, Iftar and Suhoor for four needy people, Ramadan Bag, and Muslim Healing, all of which start at $15.

Trusted Charitable Organizations

Activists circulated tweets that included a group of licensed charitable organizations, to avoid fraud in the name of the attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to exploit a humanitarian crisis to make profits.
