• Feijóo economic plan proposes tax relief for incomes below 40,000 euros

  • Politics The PP demands that the Government apply the income pact that it asks of the workers and reduce its ministries

Without the PP logo and with the shield of Spain.

This is how Alberto Núñez Feijóo has sent his new economic plan to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.

It is a 41-page document in which it is committed to lowering taxes, streamlining European funds, reducing public spending and implementing structural economic reforms in the medium term.

Even at the end of the letter, the agreements that could be approved "immediately" are detailed, without having to negotiate them.

The popular

leader

attaches a letter in which he explains that there is nothing more pressing than the economic crisis and in which he demands "reciprocity" from the chief

executive

after holding out his hand.

"No other issue is more urgent at this time than working together to strengthen the present and the economic future of the Spanish people. For this reason, my entire team remains available for any aspect that needs to be commented on or clarified," Feijóo explains in the letter. .

"I want to make it clear to you," Feijóo tells Sánchez, "that the document I am attaching to you has not been prepared exclusively by the Popular Party, since dozens of people from civil society have participated in its conception and development and, being knowledgeable about this initiative, have formulated their contributions".

That is why it does not carry the letterhead of its formation, but the shield of

Spain.

Because, according to Feijóo, his economic plan "from this moment no longer belongs to the political formation that I represent but to all Spaniards and, therefore, to the current central government to apply it."

In this way, the president of the main opposition party calls on the chief executive to present himself to negotiate and agree on some of his measures, despite the fact that the ministers and the president himself have already rejected the main part of the document, the of the tax reduction.

"I know that in current politics it is not often that the Executive and the alternative Government work together on matters as relevant as these, but my will is to change that policy and replace it with another that I consider normal and habitual. Of course, I am aware that this must be reciprocal and, therefore, I ask you to attend to the proposals made by the Popular Party with a loyal and constructive spirit", Feijóo concludes the letter.

Before that, the president of the PP criticizes that "at this moment in which the Spanish face the highest prices of the last 40 years, the size and internal operating expenses of the central government is the highest in our history."

That is why his economic proposal calls for a "reduction of bureaucratic and political spending" and the elimination of several ministries (he gives the example of Consumption), to move "from the current 22 to a new organic structure similar to that of a few years ago."

In this way, Feijóo is demanding that at least one out of every three departments be eliminated, because Rajoy's Cabinet had 13 portfolios.

Nine less.
