Yemen.. Formation of the Presidency of the Consultation Committee, and militias continue to escalate

The Presidential Leadership Council, headed by Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, held its first meeting in the temporary capital, Aden, with the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, which consists of 50 members representing all national forces, in which the spirit of consensus and partnership was emphasized as a title for the transitional phase. The Presidential Leadership Council issued its first decision appointing Ahmed Lamlas as Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers, while continuing to retain his position as Governor of Aden, which is a constitutional procedure.

For its part, the Yemeni Parliament referred the draft general budget for 2022, estimated at 3 trillion and 645 billion riyals, with a deficit of 401 billion riyals, to a specialized parliamentary committee for scrutiny before approval.

Meanwhile, in Aden, field monitoring committees began to control price-manipulative merchants, in the first field measure of the new Yemeni leadership to serve the citizens.

On the other hand, the Houthi militia continued its violations of the UN truce, according to the media center of the Yemeni army, which indicated that it had monitored 80 violations of the armistice committed by the militias on the fronts of Marib, Al-Jawf, Saada, Hajjah, Hodeidah, Taiz and Al-Dhalea, while Yemeni military sources announced that Houthi violations exceeded 1,000 violations since its announcement.

And the army forces had shot down two Houthi marches launched towards army positions in Al-Zahir and Razih districts in Saada, while launching separate attacks on Yemeni army positions in the Al-Malahiz front in Al-Zahir district in Saada, adjacent to Hajjah governorate.

In Marib, the army and tribes repelled intense Houthi attacks on their positions on the al-Akd and al-Balaq al-Sharqi fronts, south of Marib, and a Houthi attempt to create positions in the vicinity of Jabal al-Saad in the liberated Harib district, south of Marib, was also thwarted.

With the continuation of Houthi violations of the truce, a member of the Presidential Command Council, Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, stressed that the priorities of the council's work are to liberate the rest of the governorates from the terrorist Houthi militia, calling on the political and tribal components and forces and all the Yemeni people to unite efforts and align themselves behind the new leadership to complete the implementation of the tasks of the transitional phase. .


For his part, the Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Army, Lieutenant-General Saghir bin Aziz, called on the army forces to prepare for a decisive battle that rid Yemen of what he described as "evil" supported from abroad, saying in a speech before the graduation of new courses in the army forces yesterday, "All Yemenis will go to liberate Sanaa and every inch of Yemen is from the Houthis.

He added, "The capital, Sana'a, is the goal of all Yemenis, and we will celebrate it soon. Yemenis are fully united today against the Houthi militia."

Al-Houthi’s violations also coincided with intense efforts by the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to complete the terms of the armistice, and his announcement of the date of the first commercial flight from Sanaa airport to the Jordanian capital, Amman, next Sunday, stressing his continued work with the parties to ensure compliance with all provisions of the armistice.

For his part, the Yemeni Foreign Minister, Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, called for accelerating the implementation of the provisions of the armistice and opening the roads in the city of Taiz, which the militias refuse to open under the justification that "this is a betrayal of the blood of its members."

In addition, sources working at Sana'a Airport revealed procedures and regulations that the militias imposed on travelers through Sana'a Airport, including obtaining approval from its security apparatus called "Preventive Security."

The sources pointed out that the Houthis tightened their security grip on the airport through the Preventive Security elements, whose job is to monitor the statements of departures from or arrivals from Sanaa airport, and they put a list of names that prevents her from traveling and that there are trends to arrest her if she is at the airport, including political and military leaders and members of the airport. Parliament and the Shura Council.

In addition, well-informed sources in Sanaa confirmed that the militias provided Al-Qaeda in Al-Bayda with drones, as part of the interaction between the two terrorist groups.

Al-Qaeda in Yemen announced, through a statement, its possession of drones for the first time, and used them in Al-Bayda Governorate.

In Taiz, a woman died of her injuries from a Houthi sniper's bullet last week in the Asafra neighborhood, north of the city.

In Ibb, tribal gunmen launched an attack, with medium and light weapons, on a militia security headquarters in the Al-Mashnah area in the governorate center, and took control of the headquarters, leaving the Houthis dead and wounded.
