“The special military operation will end when its tasks are completed,” Polishchuk was quoted by TASS as saying.

According to him, these include the protection of the civilian population of Donbass, the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, as well as the elimination of threats to Russia emanating from Ukrainian territory due to its development by NATO countries.

The diplomat added that the special operation is proceeding in accordance with the plan.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the situation in the Donbass republics had only worsened over eight years, as a result, the tragedy in the region forced Russia to launch a military operation to protect its population.
