  The person in charge summed up the main characteristics of the current telecommunication and network fraud crimes as "wide scope, new means and deep harm".

For example, in this batch of typical cases, Liu Moufeng and other 37 criminals in the fraud case used the name of forming online game couples to lure players into high-value recharges to defraud money, which is a new type of "game trust" fraud method.

  In the case of "Xu and other 6 people infringing on citizens' personal information", the agents of the telecommunications department and the personnel of the labor service company colluded with each other, took advantage of the convenience of work, illegally collected the ID cards and face recognition information of migrant workers to activate the mobile phone card, and were used in telecommunications network fraud.

According to statistics, in 2021, prosecutors will prosecute more than 9,800 people for crimes against citizens' personal information, a year-on-year increase of 64%.

  "Citizens' personal information has become the 'basic material' for telecommunication and network fraud crimes," said the person in charge of the Fourth Procuratorate of the Supreme People's Procuratorate. Industry "ghosts" and professional gangs will be severely punished as the focus.
