- I have run around here since I was little and everyone knew who I was before I went in as CEO, so there were never any strange things.

I felt ready to shoulder that role, says Amanda Hilding.

She has several older siblings, but according to her it should have been obvious that she was the person who would take over the role from her father.

She believes that it is more about interest and career choice in life, than whether you are a man or a woman.

Need to be more equal

New research has shown that it is much more common for sons to take over companies from their parents than for daughters to do so.

Something that Amanda would like to see a change in.

- I think it is important that there are female role models in entrepreneurship, so that more people dare to take the step.

We need to get it more equal, even if I think it is going in the right direction, she says.

"It's about caring less"

Amanda Hilding believes that one reason is that men are often more risk-taking than women and that the step can feel far-fetched.

She believes that it is important not to think so much about what others should think and think about the choices you make, but to see more of yourself and what you want.

In the clip above, you hear Amanda Hilding talk about what it has been like to take over as CEO after her father.
