In Vénissieux, near Lyon, a man committed suicide on Wednesday evening by throwing himself from a bridge overlooking the ring road.
The victim, dressed only in underpants, stepped over the catwalk around 9:30 p.m. without the witnesses having had time to intervene.
After falling, she was hit by a car that did not stop, reports Le Progrès.
Rescuers couldn't do anything.
The 38-year-old man was already dead when they arrived.
According to the regional daily, he lived nearby and was staying in a hotel in the area.
His suicidal tendencies were known to those around him.
