In Vénissieux, near Lyon, a man committed suicide on Wednesday evening by throwing himself from a bridge overlooking the ring road.

The victim, dressed only in underpants, stepped over the catwalk around 9:30 p.m. without the witnesses having had time to intervene.

The 38-year-old man was already dead when they arrived.
